As from (date of change) there will be an overhaul of the way the forum is accessed and how it is managed
and presented.
The format of this new forum will make it easier for people to read it as they will not have so spend much
time scrolling through huge lists of sub forums that they have nothing to do with. It will also speed the
forum up and should solve the problem of lagging that many have experienced. It will offer more chances for
role play as communications between towns in a particular county will be conducted in the INNs, as will any
county functions. It will also promote role play in the towns themselves as players will not be distracted
by the goings on in neighbouring towns.
Here are the details of the changes and what you need to do in order to access this new forum:
1: Instead of 1 large forum, the RK world will be split into 2 smaller forums. The first will house the main
parts of the public forums such as the Regent's Castle, The Houses of Parliament, the County INN's and
towns. The second forum will house all the private forums such as county councils, family houses and the
guilds etc.
2: Players will no longer be able to see every part of the forum. They will see the public areas, the county
INN and the town that they live in. On the second forum they will be able to see the private groups they
belong to. If your player travels to a new town/county then that will automatically become the forum area
that they can see. This is because the new forum will be directly linked to a players game account.
3: When a new player joins the game their forum account is created automatically. Existing members can
easily link their old forum account to their ingame account by answering a few questions that will appear in
the game. To do this, just follow these easy steps:
a) Log into your game account
b) On the lefthand side of the screen, choose 'forum'
c) You will see 3 options, choose the third one
d) This takes you to a screen with some questions on it. Simply fill them in and submit them. This will link
your old forum account to the new forum.
4: You will be allowed to create 5 NPC forum accounts that will be attached to your game account. The Admins
will know which NPC's belong to which game account, but for the sake of having a mask account on the forum
other players will not be able to see which player they belong to.
In summary, it will be an easy, faster, more friendly forum that will make the Renaissance Kingdoms
experience even better than it is now.
